With two teammates already committed to SEC schools, Joseph Savoy is hoping a big senior season will help increase his recruiting profile.
Savoy had a big game against Clay-Chalkville.
Several teams are showing interest in the athlete from Huntsville (Ala.) High including Middle Tennessee State, UAB, Southern Illinois, Chattanooga and Murray State.
He doesn’t have any offers yet but feels like MTSU may be close.
“MTSU has sent me a lot of stuff and I’ve visited there once,” Savoy said. “An offer would mean everything. I live football.”
Savoy, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, plays mostly quarterback and rover for Huntsville. He also gets some snaps at running back.
He’s willing to play anywhere on the next level.
“I just want a school that’s like a family and makes me feel like home,” he said.
Savoy said he’s on track to be a full qualifier with a 2.7 GPA and an 18 on the ACT.
Huntsville plays at Gadsden City Friday with a chance to earn a playoff berth with a win in their final Region game of the season. The Panthers are led by Auburn linebacker commit Cameron Toney and Alabama offensive line commit Grant Hill.
