QB remains firm with commitment

AUBURN -- Other schools such as Ole Miss and LSU are coming after him hard. Auburn, the school he committed to in May, is struggling with its worst start in more than a decade.

But all that hasn’t deterred Jeremy Johnson.

The 4-star quarterback from Carver in Montgomery, Ala., remains firmly committed to Auburn although he’s sticking to his plan to visit a couple of other schools.

“I’m still 100 percent right now. I’m still 100 percent signing with Auburn,” Johnson said following Carver’s 46-20 win at Auburn High School Friday.

“I love Coach (Gene) Chizik and the coaching staff and I love the fans. I love everybody out here now because they’re crazy about me and they want me there.”

Johnson, 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, had a huge game combining for more than 300 yards passing and rushing and five touchdowns in front of a national audience on ESPNU.

In typical fashion, Johnson credited his teammates for the win.

“I was just doing my job,” he said.

He said 100% RIGHT NOW.I Heard a recuiting guy make a comment that he personally thought Johnson ends up at Ole Miss. Hope he is wrong, but whenthe iceberg gets in the way, everything goes under. WDE!

What I would like to ask is why would a top QB not want to come to Auburn, especially one that can run and pass? I know some of you doubters may have something sarcastic to say about our OC, but I had rather believe that some players feel they could come in and make things better.

Because he knows, from the looks of things, he can come in and play as a true freshman.
Two questions: 1) What sort of offense is he running now in HS? 2) When is he planning on enrolling? Spring, Summer or Fall? Thanks.

We all need to stay all in. We have the defense and the the defensive recruits going in the right direction. we have alway believed in defense. Chizik and Van Gorder have impeccable defense credentials. we will have Liner, Foster, and some great linebackers coming in. We are unfortunately looking at next year.

Well you know from lots of history that obviously Auburn will be good again, and I really think it could be sooner rather than later (not this year). Given the other teams in the league and what Auburn, long term has to offer, a great QB could look at Auburn and find it offers the best of everything in terms of playing time, quality OL prospects to protect the QB, etc. Obviously the coaching staff has to get their act together, but even worse case scenario with other coaches, Auburn is probably the best SEC school you could go to right now with hopes of immediate playing time at QB. Everyone else in the league has a QB returning as a starter, except maybe Ole Miss and Vandy and longterm they do not offer the potential Auburn does. As low as AU is right now, with quality LBs and a quality QB Auburn could turn this thing around soon.

We know he plays great IN AUBURN with Reuben Foster there...
My favorite hilite considering how things are going would be when he throws the ball away instead of throwing an interception.
Man....I just wish Chizik could turn this thing around, get the players and coaches back on the same page so we can look forward to the future again. I endured the 9 straight losses to Bama and now we have lost 4 of 5 to them, or close to it.
I DO NOT look to current high school players for any comfort in the situation. We know how long they are labeled as "young and inexperienced."
