Fearless Forecasters, Week 12

With rivalry games a week away, it's cupcake weekend in the Southeastern Conference. Auburn is no exception, taking on FCS foe Alabama A&M at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Sophomore tailback Tre Mason

The Tigers are badly wounded, staggering into the game with a 2-8 record and coming off a 38-0 loss to Georgia. For Alabama A&M, it will be a rare opportunity to play on a big stage.

An Alabama A&M win would be the biggest, by far, in school history. Conversely, an Auburn loss would be the worst in school history.

Both Senior Editor Phillip Marshall and Senior Writer Bryan Matthews were 12-5 last week.Bryan continues to hold a healthy lead with a 147-58 record for the season. Phillip is nine games back at 138-67.

Alabama A&M (7-3) at Auburn (2-8, 0-7 SEC)

Phillip's take: It's a physical mismatch all over the field, even more of a mismatch than the New Mexico State game the Tigers won 42-7. It won't take a major effort to make this game lopsided. Look for freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace and tailback Tre Mason to have big games.

Auburn 49, Alabama A&M 7

Bryan's take: Could Auburn lose this game? Sure. But I think they'll play hard enough to win by a couple of touchdowns on Senior Day.

Auburn 28, Alabama A&M 14

Arkansas (4-6, 2-4) at Mississippi State (7-3, 3-3)

Bryan's take: Mississippi State is looking to end a three-game skid. I think they'll do it ,but it won't be easy against an Arkansas team fighting for a bowl bid.

Mississippi State 23, Arkansas 21

Phillip's take: After a 7-0 start, Mississippi State has been exposed in a big way the past three weeks. Arkansas was exposed long ago. The Bulldogs are playing at home, so they get the nod.

Mississippi State 31, Arkansas 28

Western Carolina (1-9) at No. 4 Alabama (9-1, 6-1)

Phillip's take: It'll be a nice scrimmage for Alabama.

Alabama 63, Western Carolina 3

Bryan's take: One of a number sorry games this week.

Alabama 52, Western Carolina 0

Jacksonville State (6-4) at No. 7 Florida (9-1, 7-1)

Bryan's take: PPV should make a killing in the SEC this week.

Florida 37, Jacksonville State 10

Phillip's take: Jacksonville State is good enough to be pesky, but it's not good enough to win.

Florida 24, Jacksonville State 14

Wofford (8-2) at No. 12 South Carolina (8-2, 6-2)

Phillip's take: This one could be more dangerous for South Carolina than you think. Wofford's option offense has given the Gamecocks fits in the past.

South Carolina 38, Wofford 21

Bryan's take: Forcing all SEC teams to play the week before the SEC Championship game has made this an awful week.

South Carolina 42, Wofford 7

Georgia Southern (8-2) at No. 5 Georgia (9-1, 7-1)

Bryan's take: This is so bad and there are still a couple more sorry games to go.

Georgia 56, Georgia Southern 7

Phillip's take: There won't be much to see here. Georgia is rolling.

Georgia 41, Georgia Southern 14

Ole Miss (5-5, 2-4) at No. 8 LSU (8-2, 4-2)

Phillip's take: This is one of the more underrated rivalries in the SEC. Ole Miss will give it a big effort, but it won't be near enough.

LSU 42, Ole Miss 20

Bryan's take: Finally, an SEC matchup. But I just don't think this game will be that competitive. It's the CBS game, though, and will be a lot more competitive than next week's CBS 2:30 game.

LSU 34, Ole Miss 20

Sam Houston State (8-2) at No. 9 Texas A&M (8-2, 5-2)

Bryan's take: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Texas A&M 55, Sam Houston State 13

Phillip's take: Could Texas A&M break the 100-point barrier. Probably so if head coach Kevin Sumlin wanted to.

Texas A&M 70, Sam Houston State 17

Tennessee (4-6, 0-6) at Vanderbilt (6-4, 4-3)

Phillip's take: I have never picked Vanderbilt to beat Tennessee, at least not that I can recall. This season, Vanderbilt would actually appear to be the better team. Then again, Bryan is picking Vanderbilt and I need to catch up before it's too late.

Tennessee 35, Vanderbilt 34

Bryan's take: Now here's a game I'm really looking forward to watching Saturday night. OK, not really. But it should be competitive. Vanderbilt has reeled off five straight wins. I think they'll make it a sixth.

Vanderbilt 26, Tennessee 24

Syracuse (5-5) at Missouri (5-5, 2-5)

Bryan's take: This is a strange matchup. I'll go with the SEC team playing at home.

Missouri 17, Syracuse 14

Phillip's take: I actually have no clue about this game, but since Bryan picked Missouri, I'm taking Syracuse.

Syracuse 17, Missouri 14

Samford (7-3) at Kentucky (1-9, 0-7)

Phillip's take: Can Samford reach up and bring down an SEC team? It made things interesting at Auburn last season. In my super duper upset special. ...

Samford 28, Kentucky 27[i]

Bryan's take: Kentucky's lone win this season came over Kent State. I think they'll double their win total Saturday.

[i]Kentucky 31, Samford 21

Phillip's take: Cincinnati 34, Rutgers 24; Michigan State 35, Northwestern 20; Penn State 21, Indiana 7; USC 31, UCLA 24; Oklahoma State 52, Texas Tech 28; Duke 21, Georgia Tech 20; Ohio State 24, Wisconsin 20; Oklahoma 52, West Virginia 42; Kansas State 42, Baylor 28; Oregon 56, Stanford 34.

Bryan's take: Cincinnati 28, Rutgers 21; Michigan State 31, Northwestern 28; Penn State 28, Indiana 20; UCLA 30, USC 28; Oklahoma State 48, Texas Tech 31; Georgia Tech 38, Duke 28; Wisconsin 20, Ohio State 17; Oklahoma 42, West Virginia 21; Kansas State 34, Baylor 24; Oregon 44, Stanford 28.
