Both Phillip and Bryan are coming off strong 16-4 weeks, with Bryan still holding a slim lead over Phillip in the overall standings 152-64 to 151-65.
Just one game separates our fearless forecasters with two weeks of the regular season remaining.
Ole Miss (4-6, 1-5 SEC) at No. 5 LSU (9-1, 5-1)
Phillip’s take: Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt has had LSU’s number in recent seasons, and the Rebels are at home. But there’s a problem. Ole Miss has a bad team. LSU has a good team. That’s bad news for the reeling Rebels.
LSU 31, Ole Miss 20
Bryan’s take: That was an embarrassing loss to Tennessee and I wasn’t impressed with Houston Nutt’s comments this week. I think his team is about to get taken to the woodshed again.
LSU 46, Ole Miss 13
No. 13 Arkansas (8-2, 4-2) at No. 21 Mississippi State (7-3, 3-3)
Bryan’s take: It’s been a nice season for Mississippi State and they should get their eighth win in the Egg Bowl next week. But this week, I think Arkansas’ offense is just to potent for the Bulldogs. The Razorbacks can still finish second in the SEC West with a win Saturday and a win over LSU next week.
Arkansas 34, Mississippi State 17
Phillip’s take: The Bulldogs’ dream season took a big hit in a 30-10 loss at Alabama last Saturday. It’ll take another hit at home this Saturday. The Razorbacks are playing at a high level, too high for Mississippi State.
Arkansas 38, Mississippi State 20
Tennessee (4-6, 1-5) at Vanderbilt (2-8, 1-6)
Phillip’s take: Tennessee has suddenly come to life. Vanderbilt? Well, it’s Vanderbilt. The Vols are playing to get bowl eligible, and the Commodores won’t get in their way.
Tennessee 41, Vanderbilt 17
Bryan’s take: Vandy has beaten Tennessee just once in the last 26 years but this Saturday at home is a great opportunity for the Dores to show their gold. The Vols are coming off a big win and still have a chance to play in a bowl game. There will be plenty of puke orange in Vanderbilt Stadium.
Tennessee 31, Vanderbilt 21
Troy (5-4) at No. 17 South Carolina (7-3, 5-3)
Bryan’s take: After winning the SEC East championship at Florida last week, South Carolina may be in for a little letdown. The Trojans could make it interesting but will have a hard time stopping a balanced Gamecock offense.
South Carolina 42, Troy 28
Phillip’s take: Troy makes a habit of almost winning games like this. It almost beat Oklahoma State earlier this season. It will almost beat South Carolina.
South Carolina 30, Troy 27
Appalachian State (9-1) at Florida (6-4, 4-4)
Phillip’s take: Can Appalachian pull off another Michigan miracle? The Gators would seem ripe for the taking, but they aren’t in so much disarray that they will lose to even the best of FCS teams.
Florida 34, Appalachian State 14
Bryan’s take: Appalachian State’s only loss this year was in overtime to Georgia Southern. Their second loss won’t be near as close.
Florida 35, Appalachian State 10
