Emory Blake is on Biletnikoff Award watch list.
Junior Auburn wide receiver Emory Blake was named Wednesday one of 75 players on the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation’s top receiver. Earlier in the day junior tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen was one of 34 players named to the watch list for the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation’s top tight end.
Lutzenkirchen, 6-foot-4 and 253 pounds, caught 15 passes for 185 yards and five touchdowns last season. He caught the game winner in Auburn’s 28-27 victory over Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Blake, 6-foot-1 and 197 pounds, is one of 75 receivers, including 12 from the SEC, on the Biletnikoff list. He caught 33 passes for 554 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He is the Tigers’ leading returning receiver.
Lutzenkirchen is one of four SEC tight ends on the Mackey list. He joins Vanderbilt’s Brandon Barden, Georgia’s Orson Charles and Alabama’s Michael Williams.
Blake joins Alabama's Duron Carter, Darius Hanks and Marquis Maze; Arkansas' Joe Adams, Greg Childs, Cobi Hamilton and Jarius Wright; Georgia's Tavarres King; LSU's Rueben Randle; Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis; and South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery on the Biletnikoff.
Auburn running back Mike Dyer was named to the Maxwell Award watch list on Tuesday.
