    • Great weekend. Rome wasn't built in a day, so maybe this was the start of good things.

This staff seems to exceed the work ethic of the last staff, and surely the one before. Football I mean.

Basketball and baseball still have results left to show. Retain and develop...

    • What you report is not the death scene that fans are seeing over basketball, and the entire athletic program failures of the past 12 months. Did the experience with Chizik over his last year so affect our capability to fairly judge a temporary stop in the pits. I read of CEO's who with the Auburn record in athletics would be immediately canned and replaced with brains. That isn't my experience with the business world. Execs of obviously failing business got bonuses for their lack of vision, but, that doesn't support our concepts thus is never mentioned. I admit it. I'm one not in the depths of dispair over the Athletic progams in fact, it looks to me like things in the world of major sports are certainly capable of getting much better than they have been. Well feelings winning over reality is not so strange in the world in which we live-a failing that cuts both ways.

Yes people over react on this site because they are passionate about all things Auburn. Execs get paid big time bonuses all the time regardless of how the company did, even if they do get fired they still get millions. Has the past year been bad for Auburn sports? Sure it has, but firing everyone involved in every sport and starting over just puts you behind even further most of the time. Some change was needed, some has happened, but the change that most people on here want would be bad.

    • I am new to this forum but certainly not new to being an AU supporter.

I am thinking most all of us can agree that football is headed in the right direction under HC Malzahn. In men's basketball, I am of the opinion that HC Barbee deserves at least one more year to prove his worth. He inherited a mess and knows he is working toward the future. You need look only as far as the youth he featured in the 2nd half Sat and the current recruiting commitments. I have been increasingly concerned about HC Pawlowski and the direction of the baseball program but the apparent quality of the new freshman and JC transfer faces he has brought in and a 4-0 start have me encouraged. Without details, it also seems to me that we are headed in the right direction with women's basketball, softball and gymnastics.

"It's great to be an Auburn Tiger!" WDE!

    • It's great to see Auburn making progress on all fronts. I am really looking for growth in all the major sports this spring and into next fall. The one place where I am still baffled and concerned is men's basketball. It just makes no sense to me that we can't seem to put a program together to compete in that sport. I keep pulling for them, maybe next year. WDE

Coaches get fired after a 3 win season and get millions!

    • Of all the recruits already committed to other schools, it will be interesting to see how many of those guys flip and wind up at AU. It happens every year, both for us and against us. To many recruits, commitment means nothing.

    • I was very impressed with the baseball teams sweep this weekend and hope it is a sign that we have turned the corner. If only the basketball team could do the same.... maybe coach Barbee can make it happen next year. If not patience will not be there for sure! I am looking forward to the outcome of this coming weekend. I believe once prospects get on campus and see what AU has to offer, not to even mention the outstanding coaching staff, we will see a positive outcome. WDE

Three posts to the negative. Not saying it is not a good post. But just counting how many it takes for the first negative. Some times it is good just to have a positive weekend and move on.
