AUBURN - Freshman running back Jovon Robinson is ineligible to play football for Auburn, AuburnUndercover.com has confirmed.

Robinson, a 4-star recruit from Wooddale High School in Memphis, has not practiced since it was revealed a guidance counselor at his high school had admitted changing one or more grades on his transcript and resigned.

The NCAA has spoken to officials at Auburn and in Memphis. Auburn has not been implicated in the grade changes.

Robinson attended summer school and did well in his classes, sources said. His future plans are uncertain.

Robinson was drawing glowing reviews from coaches before he was removed from practice. As a senior at Wooddale, he rushed for 1,069 yards and 13 touchdowns.

With Robinson's departure, Auburn will go into the season-opener with senior Onterio McCalebb, sophomores Tre Mason and Corey Grant and redshirt freshman Mike Blakeley at tailback.
