Auburn commits and targets rank high

Auburn’s 15 commitments rank high in’s initial rankings including nine that are ranked as a four-star and six that are part of the Top 247 recruits in the country.

Auburn’s two highest rated commits are cornerback Jonathan Rose and quarterback Kiehl Frazier, who are both members of the Top 100.

Joining Rose and Frazier in the Top 247 are wide receiver Jaylon Denson, offensive lineman Thomas O’Reilly, center Reese Dismukes and defensive tackle Angelo Blackson.

Three more players just missed The 247 but are ranked four-star in wide receiver Sammie Coates, defensive lineman JaBrian Niles and athlete C.J. Uzomah.

Defensive end Keymiya Harrell, linebacker Chris Landrum, safety Anthony Swain, linebacker Justin Garrett and cornerback Devin Gaulden all received three-star rankings.

Athlete Izauea Lanier won’t receive a ranking until later this fall when 247Sports releases its junior college rankings.

“Top to bottom, it's a really solid class for Auburn and one of the better groups in the SEC,” national recruiting analyst J.C. Shurburtt. “Kiehl Frazier is an excellent quarterback prospect and a great fit for what the Tigers like to do on offense. Jonathan Rose is an elite defensive back prospect.

“And the players along the lines of scrimmage -- O'Reilly, Blackson, Dismukes, Region, Niles and Harrell -- all have excellent upside. I like Denson and Coates as well.”

Eight of Auburn’s top targets are in the Top 100 including defensive end Ray Drew, who is one of just 21 prospects currently rated a five-star. Also in the Top 100 and rated a four-star are running backs Mike Blakely and Rodney Coe, offensive tackle Greg Robinson, defensive end Xzavier Dickson, defensive tackle Gabe Wright, cornerback Marcus Roberson, safety Erique Florence and athlete Quan Bray.

Four-star prospects include tight end Brandon Fulse, running back Dee Hart, linebacker Kris Frost and cornerback Robenson Therezie.
