AUBURN – Auburn’s softball team is NCAA Tournament-bound for the fourth consecutive season.
The No. 23 Tigers (39-17) will play Brigham Young (38-16) in the Seattle Regional on Thursday. Host Washington (34-14), the No. 12 national seed, will play Portland (34-16).
“BYU is going to be a tough matchup in a very tough regional,” Auburn coach Tina Deese said. “We have our work cut out for us. BYU is a good team. I know our team is very excited about the challenge in front of us. and we are ready to get to work.”
Auburn will face BYU for he first time. The Tigers are 0-4 all-time against Washington and lost to the Huskies 5-0 last season.
The Tigers earned eighth berth in the NCAA Tournament The Seattle Regional is Auburn’s eighth berth in the NCAA Tournament since 2002 with a strong finish that included five wins over nationally ranked team in the last two weeks of the regular season.
