Five-star receiver D'haquille Williams, the No. 1-ranked junior college player in the country, knew he wanted to be an Auburn Tiger on Saturday evening.
Williams is a huge pick up for Auburn.
"I knew it since last night when I walked out on that field .. I felt it," Williams said Sunday. "And when I felt it, I knew this was home."
On Sunday, Williams committed to the Tigers.
"I was going to tell them last night but I just held it in," Williams said. "[When he told the staff Sunday they were] all smiles. I saw the coach's face when I committed. It was crazy the way he smiled. And the way they hugged each other. By that, it let me know they landed a big prospect, and I'm just trying to live it up to the fullest."
The 6-feet-3, 213-pounder chose Auburn over a host of schools, most notably LSU, which he was committed to at one time.
Williams was at Auburn on his official visit this weekend.
His recruitment was led by Tigers co-offensive coordinator Dameyune Craig, who has now moved back into No. 1 in the 247Sports Recruiter Rankings.
"Coming in on Friday, being around Coach Craig -- felt like he was there for me -- on and off the field," Williams said. "Just feeling the vibe he offered ... Coach [Gus] Malzahn and Coach [Rhett] Lashlee, letting me know they need me. When I'm hearing that, that's telling me they care for me. Not too many people I trust, but trust in them -- coming here and feeling at home, it's big for me."
Williams was commit No. 13 for Auburn for the 2014 class. The Tigers added No. 14 a short while later.
"I'm trying to make a big impact on Auburn by becoming a Tiger," Williams said. "This is where it's at, and this is where it's going to be. I'm trying to set the tone."
What about Auburn really stood out?
"You know, the people, the environment," Williams said. "Everybody just smiled and walked around, just giving me big ups just for being on campus. Just being here, it just felt like home. And not many places feel like home for me."
According to Williams, he might not visit other schools.
"Right now, I don't know if I'm going to take any more," Williams said. "I think this is it right here."
